  • Winter: Winters are cold in Samarkand, mostly in the range of -2°C to 8°C, which is about 28°F-46°F. Usually, January is the coldest month on average at about 2°C or 36°F. Snow is not a common feature; it does fall at times, otherwise, it usually is dry and crisp.
  • Spring-March to May: Springtime in Samarkand gradually reaches an average temperature of 10°C to 22°C or about 50°F to 72°F. March is cool and stays at about 10°C/50°F, while May is fairly warm and close to 22°C/72°F. The season is very pleasant for outdoor activities, with flowers in bloom and the city awakening.

  • Summer (June to August): Summers are hot and dry; daytime temperatures range from 25°C to 35°C, while in July and August, these usually reach as high as 36°C. Evenings, however, are mostly cooler and pleasant.

  • Autumn (September to November): During autumn, temperature gradually decreases from 25°C in September to 10°C in November. It is warm and sunny in September, with cooler winds during late autumn that turn into winter.
